What Clients Say

Your Questions, Answered

Why train in the caregivers home?

I begin with an in home evaluation in order to observe your dog in their own environment. Once the evaluation is complete, I create a training plan catered to your dog and your lifestyle.

Why positive?

It is the most successful and humane approach to training. Science based research has proven that positive reinforcement training is the best approach. Using corrections and other means of force cause psychological and sometimes even physical damage to dogs.

How many sessions does it typically take?

This varies based on several factors. The current level of comfort for learning your dog has, the goals of the team, the training consistency that can be achieved, and the learning plasticity of the caregiver and dog.

Why should I use a certified dog trainer?

Unfortunately the dog training industry is unregulated. Anyone can open a dog training business without having any proper qualifications. In my case, the certification program I did required extensive reading and scientific study, a written two hour exam, hands on training with a rescue dog, and a hands on training exam to complete the course and become certified by Pat Miller.
